As we step into 2026 together, I want to begin by sending you unconditional love, acceptance, and calm. As you read these words, imagine being wrapped in a soft blanket of Reiki—nothing to do, nowhere to go, just permission to arrive exactly as you are. January is not asking you to rush forward. It’s inviting you to love out loud, starting with yourself. 💗Love Out Loud: Mirror High-Fives & the Science of Self-Compassion What if self-love wasn’t something you had to earn, improve, or prove? Research shows that self-compassion reduces stress, quiets the inner critic, and increases resilience, motivation, and emotional well-being. In other words, loving yourself doesn’t make you complacent—it makes you stronger. One of my favorite simple practices is the Mirror High-Five. Yes, it may feel awkward at first. That’s okay. Growth often does. Look yourself in the eyes. Smile gently. Offer a high-five or place your hand on your heart and say something kind—out loud. Your nervous system listens. Your body responds. Your energy shifts. Self-love is not selfish.
